LIFE is what we choose it to be...........

This one is for all my readers, I have written only techinical stuff in my blogs until now so today I felt like sharing some of the important things. Our life is one of the most precious things that we have and making it a place of heaven or beds of thorn is our own choice and there are many people blaming others or the circumstances they are put into for the condition of their life but what I believe is that everything is beautiful and full opportunities ,it;s only our perception to it is different.

I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock strikes midnight. I have responsibilities to fulfill today. I am important. My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.

Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free.

Today I can feel sad that I don't have more money or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste.

Today I can grumble about my health or I can rejoice that I am alive.

Today I can lament over all that my parents didn't give me when I was growing up or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born.

Today I can cry because roses have thorns or I can celebrate that thorns have roses.

Today I can mourn my lack of friends or I can excitedly embark upon a quest to discover new relationships.

Today I can whine because I have to go to work or I can shout for joy because I have a job to do.

Today I can complain because I have to go to school or eagerly open my mind and fill it with rich new tidbits of knowledge.

Today I can murmur dejectedly because I have to do housework or I can feel honored because the Lord has provided shelter for my mind, body and soul.

Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped. And here I am, the sculptor who gets to do the shaping.

What today will be like is up to me. I get to choose what kind of day I will have!

Laser Fusion Milestone Achieved

A major milestone was reached recently when scientists at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California reported that they had demonstrated that laser pulses shot into a cavity can produce the conditions required to trigger nuclear fusion reactions. The finding was a crucial test of principle for Livermore's National Ignition Facility (NIF), the $3.5 billion complex now under construction and expected to start full operations in 2009.
When completed NIF will be, by far, the world’s largest and most energetic laser and a major international scientific resource. Designed to study the physics of matter at extreme densities, pressures, and temperatures, NIF will use 192 laser beams to compress fusion targets to conditions required for thermonuclear ignition and burn. In the process, more energy will be liberated than is used to initiate the fusion reactions.
New Stimulation Technology Improves Gas Production

Halliburton has added a breakthrough stimulation technology, GasPerm 1000(SM) service, which helps improve production from unconventional reservoirs including tight gas, shales and coalbed methane. Based on a newly developed microemulsion surfactant, the service helps remove water drawn into the formation during the fracturing process. Removing the water can improve permeability to gas at the fracture face and help increase gas production. In addition the service represents a safety and environmental advancement, replacing methanol in many applications.
In the fracturing process, water can be drawn (imbibed) into the formation from the fluid used to create the fracture. The water drawn into the pore spaces is held there by capillary pressure and surface tension and can block gases from flowing into the wellbore. Commonly called "water block," this process is especially pronounced in unconventional gas reservoirs where the lower permeability results in increased capillary pressure.
The service has been shown to enable the imbibed liquids to be expelled from the rock matrix and fracture system, thereby enabling improved gas production.

INDIA RISING

Today I had a test so didn't do anything much(I mean didn't try to explore any new technology ),but I read a wonderful article of Fareed Zakaria.
I find this ariticle very interesting because since past few months there is a sudden shift of limelight from Iraq to India.Suddenly the world started to reckon the potential of India. In this article Mr.Zakaria had discussed thoroughly the change of outlook of the world to India. What I really liked about this article is that along with validating the fact that infact the world has shifted it's focus to India, he also point out the real life scenario as well as the fallacies that's still exists in India. He has given a real time outlook of the growth of Indian economy, the achievements and failures of the economy based on the leadership. He has made a very good comparison of the urban-rural,high-middle class society and what does this new outlook means to them.
What was really heartning is to know the fact that India with it's large population,22,000 different dialects, poverty ,corrupt politicians and numerous other drawbacks still survived the democracy,in this total disorder and chaos India had struck uniformity and proved itself to the world. The force of impact of this change and harmony is so much that even the whole world had to accept it.This reminds me of a concept taught to me in my undergraduate class, the concept of Entropy which is generally defined as the randomness or chaos. What matters is that in that complete chaos and randomness there exists uniformity when observed closely.
The previous day I was talking with a friend of mine ,who is working in India about the same issue and he was saying to me if India is developing so why can't he see it, I think the best answer is that when you are in a system you can never observe the change because this changes are never abrupt they are slow and gradual, only a pperson observing from outised can detect them.
The other day there was even a documentary on abc news channel in US,which showed that how the united states economy are gaining from the outsourcing which was contrary to the believe of a common man in US ,that they are losing jobs to India.
There are so many documentaries and so many articles everyday I see in the newspaper in US that made to realise and believe the fact that infact "India is Rising"..

A lot is being going on in the petroleum business , there are people worried about exhausting the oil reserve ,where there are others who have a bigger problem to take care of,I am among the second category.Though being a petroleum engineer, I am well aware about the fact that ever since the first wells were drilled in pennsylvania in 1859, the myth that we are running out of oil is going on so frankly I am not too much worried about the reserves. But what caught my attention is the fact the frech government is investing $ 13 billionn on an experimental nuclear fusion project that scientists hope will eventually produce a clean, safe and endless energy resource and help phase out polluting fossil fuels.
An experimental device called the "International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER)" will be built in France. ITER is hopefully the step that will bridge the gap between today’s studies of plasma physics and tomorrow's electricity-producing fusion power plants. The goal of the project is to demonstrate methods of extracting the power of nuclear fusion.
The ITER Tokamak, a magnetic containment device, would be the first fusion device to produce thermal energy at levels equivalent to conventional electricity power plants, and would demonstrate the technology necessary for the first prototype commercial fusion power plant. It is based around a hydrogen plasma torus operating at over 100 million °C, and will produce 500 MW of fusion power. It would work by heating isotopes of hydrogen to hundreds of millions of degrees, creating a plasma of charged particles.

At times there are so many thoughts in my mind that I am completly inundated with them. My friend and co worker suggested me to put them onto paper and that's where this blog came into existence. This blog is mainly dedciated to one of the main issues of the past, present as well as the future world " ENERGY".It is being said that all wars are fought for the inheritence of power and in this modern world the main source of power is energy. The present geopolitical scenario indicates that energy is going to be the main concern in immediate future. Since my main concern is energy which encompases

  1. Present scenario of the hydrocarbon reserves of the world.
  2. Other sources of evergy which could take the focus off from conventional oil.
  3. New inovations in the oil industry as well as the inovations in the renewable source of energy.
  4. The present economic conditions of some of the developing nations and there effect on the overall consumption of oil.

Since these issues will be the nerve of the present world which can lead to a blow out anytime so this issues should be addressed as early as possible and the nerve should be kept at ease.
